This design project looked at how objects are broken apart and made. We were tasked with breaking down an existing object and redesigning it, including considerations for materials, branding, and manufacture.
For this, I chose a wallet which was left unused due to ease of use issues. I redesigned it based on primary user research and secondary material and manufacturing research in order to improve its functionality, form, and overall environmental impact.

Re-Design Brief
In this project I aimed to redesign the chosen wallet to improve user experience. I also aimed to tackle production and end of life impact through minimizing the amount of materials and/or components within the design.
To begin I did primary research by first using and noting the issues with the wallet and then dissecting it to understand how it was made.

Autopsy Outcomes
I created a bill of materials from the autopsy to understand what processes and materials were involved in the original design.
I then did some primary research to better understand user preferences, and create a persona to design for.
